    Hi, your post is extremely appreciated. The piece of information that you read about the QuickBooks Database Server Manager is absolute. You can’t access QuickBooks company file from multiple computers the way that works for other programs on Local Area Network. QuickBooks Database Server Manager is the integral component of QuickBooks that makes QuickBooks multiuser work. All you need to decide is which computer will host the company file. The Company file ideally recommended being stored on the local Drive of the host/server computer.

    QuickBooks host/server computer can be swapped anytime is required. All you need is to copy the QuickBooks Company file on the new computer before you do it. Also take a look at the prerequisite’s setup QuickBooks in multiuser mode.

      1. The computers to access the company file should be hooked to wired or wireless Local Area Network.


      1. The Windows File Sharing and Networking settings should be configured for Network Communication.

    Since you are trying to upgrade from 2006 version to 2018, due to a huge gap between the versions, you would first require to upgrade your company file to 2010 version, thereafter the file can be upgraded to 2018 version.


    In case you are already trying to upgrade the file to 2010 version and still getting the -6150 error, this means either the QuickBooks components or the company file is damaged.

    You can try to follow below steps:

    Step 1: Change the location of your company file

    Step 2: Press and hold the Ctrl key while opening QuickBooks

    Step 3: Open the file from the new location


    If you are still receiving the same error, then you must first try to open a sample file to check if the issue is with the application or your company file. If the sample file works fine then your company file is damaged.

    Below steps can help you to restore the company file:

    Step 1: Go to the folder where company files are located

    Step 2: Search for the file extension.QBB

    Step 3: Now look for the most recent file in the search results

    Hey folks,

    I have been using QuickBooks since quite few years. I once had faced a similar problem which took me entire day to find a solution.

    I can’t be a 100% sure but it seems like When one of the configuration files of the QuickBooks Online Backup is damaged, then QuickBooks error LA2807 appears. It can be resolved by updating the Database file. Then re-run a backup. This will prompt the Online Backup to retrieve an updated to the DB file.

    Hi Michael,

    Let me introduce myself first, I represent a Consulting firm where I have been working on QuickBooks Pro to review and manage our books. A few days ago our printer went bad and I had to buy a new one and guess what? I was in the same trouble you are in. So below few steps, I tried:

    1. Run QuickBooks pdf and print repair tool
    2. Then re-open QuickBooks and try to print a sample check
    3. If it still does not solve your problem, then try to repair QuickBooks Pro
    4. If even that does not help, then you might have to delete or rename the QB print file which is normally located in the application directory.

    If after following the above steps your issue is still not resolved, then you might have to seek professional advice, probably a techie person who help you modify the printer settings as per the Printer’s Make & Model. You can contact to Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor.
