Hello Robert!

Thanks for posting on our QASolved Community Forum.

Don’t worry, a lot of people forget their password at times. Fortunately, it’s not that hard to recover, if you are actually the one who created the account.

There are two methods you can use to reset your company file password, including:

  • Go to the QuickBooks Desktop login screen.
  • Click on the I forgot my password button.
  • Answer the security question (you should have previously set this at the time of account creation).
  • Select OK.
  • You should see a notification that tells you that your company file is no longer password protected.
  • A new window will open, where you can set a new password for yourself.
  • Select OK.

You may also use the automated password reset tool to change your account password easily. You can download it online. In case you require the help of an IT professional, you are welcome to contact the QuickBooks Desktop Support Number.

Hope this helps.
