How to use QuickBooks Auto Data recovery option?

Last Friday I was working on a file and everything seemed to be going fine. However, today when I tried to open the file again, it didn’t accept my command and I started receiving an error message to run the file doctor. I downloaded and ran file doctor but nothing happened. So, I found someone on the web who suggested that I restore the Auto data Recovery file. I tried to perform all the steps but was unable to setup QuickBooks Auto Data Recovery. Can some please assist me?

Greetings, I’m glad that you brought this to our attention. This issue usually occurs if you forgot to create a backup copy of your file. However, QuickBooks enables you to restore the file with the help of the Auto data Recovery option. Also, after 2012, Intuit added Auto Data recovery tools with QuickBooks Pro, Premier, and enterprise. QuickBooks Auto Data recovery tools automatically get configured in the system wherein you saved the company file. Auto Data Recovery tools don’t work on the network if you don’t have a QuickBooks program installed in the server machine. Now, before you use the Auto Data Recovery tools, there are a few points that you must take into consideration.

These points are:

    • Your QuickBooks Desktop must have the latest updates.

    • The feature is not present in the Accountant edition.

    • There is a file size limitation of 1.5 Gigabytes. You cannot use Auto Data Recovery for a backup greater than 1.5 Gigabytes.
