Quickbooks does not open after installing Antivirus application

My quickbooks 2016 was working fine till last night, today after we installed McAfee Antivirus software on the computer, the quickbooks does not seem to open. I cannot remove the antivirus protection as it could put my computer at risk. Can someone tell me how to make quickbooks work while the antivirus software is still installed?

If QuickBooks does not open right after you have installed an Antivirus software on your computer, you might have to restart the computer and try again, if it still does not work you can temporarily disable the Antivirus application and check if QuickBooks works or not.

Else you would need to follow below troubleshooting steps:

Solution 1:

Download and Run QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool, this tool usually takes about 20 minutes to run the troubleshooting and it automatically repairs the components that are not responding or functioning correctly. At times you might have to manually repair the components in case the tool does not work or freezes.

Solution 2:

Rename the QBWUSER.ini file, before you do this please be aware that the list of the recently opened company files will be deleted and you might have to reopen the files from the location. This file is hidden so you might have to enable the “show hidden files” option from the folder options in Windows Explorer. The file is located in the AppData folder. You need to rename it to QBWUSER.ini.OLD and then try to open QuickBooks again.

Solution 3:

Rename the EntitlementDataStore.ecml file,  in order to rename this file you would first need to end the QBW32.exe application from the Task Manager. You can find this file in C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8 and rename them as mentioned in Solution 2.

I am sure if you follow the above steps correctly, QuickBooks should be working fine. For any technical help or assistance for Quickbooks does not open, you can call at QuickBooks ProAdvisor Support.
