Changing default email in QuickBooks Pro 2017
I wanted to change the default email in QuickBooks Pro but not sure about the server name and the port number.
You will need to configure your email service in the preferences to send transactions/invoices in QuickBooks Pro Desktop. It could be that Outlook was not selected as the default email client.
How to set up Outlook in QuickBooks Pro Desktop:
- In Edit menu, choose Preferences and select Send Forms.
- Select the Outlook radio under the My Preferences tab and click OK to close the window.
- Press OK to save the Preference.
If you are using WebMail:
Webmails have different servers and port settings regulated by the ISP. These settings often change that is why it is best to verify the settings with the ISP before setting up your webmail
For QuickBooks Desktop
- In the Edit menu, choose Preferences and select Send Forms.
- Under My Preferences tab, tick the Webmail radio button and click Add.
- Fill out the Add Email Info screen and click OK.
- Click OK to save the Preference.
For QuickBooks Online
- Go to the Gear icon.
- Choose Account and Settings.
- Choose the Company.
- Click on the Contact info button.
- Select/Update the box under Customer-facing email.
- Click on Save.
- Click on Done.
