How to Open 2 Files in QuickBooks 2018 at the same time
I am using QuickBooks Enterprise 2018 and I would like to open another Company File while one is already open. It does not allow me to do so.
If you want to open 2 files in QuickBooks from the same year of QuickBooks at the same time, you need to use QuickBooks Accountant or QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. (Pro and Premier can only open one company file at a time.) The first file you open is labeled Primary and has a few restrictions. The second file is labeled Secondary and has more restrictions. If you close the primary file when two companies are open, the secondary file becomes the primary file.
There Are Three Ways to Open a Secondary File:
- Double click on the company file name.
- Double click on QuickBooks icon.
- Go to the QuickBooks File menu and click Open Second Company.
