Unable to connect Bank Account with QuickBooks Online

I receive an error while trying to connect our bank account with QuickBooks Online in order to  download transactions

Sometimes it can be difficult to identify the accurate financial institution to set up online banking in QuickBooks Online. There are diverse reasons this can happen and some steps you can take to find the right one.

Why you cannot find or connect to the bank:

 

    • Many banks have multiple names on our list. Make sure you have selected the accurate one or tried all possible links. You can search by the banking login URL to ensure you are using the correct listing.

 

    • The bank may not fasten to all types of accounts (e.g. personal accounts vs. business accounts).

 

    • The bank (local banks) may not be a participating financial institution. If you can’t find your financial institution, you can Request support for your bank and request it be added.

 

NOTE: After requesting your financial institution be added, we have alternative methods you can use for downloading and importing your bank transactions.

Try similar banks in the list. Sometimes a financial institution will have multiple bank names or they might have different types of accounts but choose to only release one website for connection to QuickBooks Online.

One solution is to try other versions of your Financial Institution or bank that are listed:

 

    1. Choose Banking from the left menu.

 

    1. Choose Add account.

 

    1. Enter the name of your financial institution and search you FI.

 

    1. Under All results, select your bank.

 

    1. At the top of the window, choose the link for your bank’s website.

 

    1. A new window will open for the bank’s website. Ensure you are able to access your account through this site by making sure you can see the account summary, account history, and account details without any errors.
        • If you are successful accessing the account, log out of the FI’s website and continue with adding the account.

       

        • You have tried all the bank logins that match the bank name and still cannot connect or your bank doesn’t appear as a choice, we encourage you to request support for your bank.
