How do we class all expenses automatically in a particular account? Similarly the products and service are being classed automatically?

I have connected to PayPal App with QuickBooks and noticed that it automatically created an expense account for PayPal fees which is fine. However, I would like to have all charges to be  automatically classed as Fundraising that are appearing in the PayPal Fee Account. Now I don’t know if there is a better way to do this because when I try to edit an account from the Chart of Accounts it does not let me assign a class, the way you can in Products and Services.

Hey Katherine,

I would suggest that you should use the Bank Rules option and create a rule for such transactions.

Below are few steps to create expenses automatically in a particular account:

  1. Go to Banking Tab from the navigation menu.
  2. Click on New rule option
  3. Enter a Name for the rule
  4. Choose the right Account
  5. Specify the Rule Conditions
  6. Choose the Transaction Type
  7. Click Save

If the above steps are not helpful, If you face any difficulty or issues in performing the above-provided steps, then you can speak to a QuickBooks Expert at +1-855-875-1223.
