Quickbooks Error 6094 while opening company file

I am getting error while opening my QuickBooks file. Error says ‘ Error -6094, 0 (6010, 2) An error occurred when QuickBooks tried to start the database’.

QuickBooks error 6094 usually occurs when a third party Antivirus/Internet Security program is blocking QuickBooks. Below steps can help you understand and resolve the problem:

  1. If you are using PC Tools Security Software
    • Go to the Quarantine option from the Settings menu
    • Look for qbdmgr.exe and qbdmgrN.exe and click Restore
    • Then add an exception for QuickBooks, go to Settings
    • Click on Global Action List, and  choose Add
    • Now, browse and select the files mentioned in step (b) & Click OK
  2. If you are using AVG Antivirus Software
    • Open AVG and go to Resident Shield option
    • Click on Add Path, then add C:\Program Files\Intuit in the list
    • Click on OK to save
    • Then from AVG and go to Virus Vault
    • Restore the QuickBooks related files & Click on close
