What to do if Intuit Data Protect suddenly stops working

My QuickBooks online backup suddenly stopped working and I am sure I did a manual backup the last week and my QuickBooks Pro Plus subscription is active too. My card was charged just 3 months ago for the subscription. I restarted the computer to refresh my internet, everything online works just fine except the online back, I don’t know why? I haven’t been to take online backups for a week now, can anybody help on this please?

Steps to troubleshooting Common Intuit Data Protect (IDP) Problems:

  1. Always Update your QuickBooks to the latest version from option, Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Download the latest release for QuickBooks Desktop and IDP.
  3. Allow IDP tool to Windows Firewall.
  4. In Windows go to, Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Intuit\Data Protect, and then add below executable as exceptions:
    • QuickBooks IDP service
    • IBUeng host
    • Intuit Data Protect
  5. Your network should be private.
  6. If you still experience a problem, disable your Antivirus or other security software.
  7. We should Add Intuit Data Protect as your Trusted Sites.
  8. Then, check the Length of your File Paths as it can have a maximum of 260 characters.
  9. Use Intuit Data Protect Diagnostic Tool which will check computer’s memory, disk space, Windows components (i.e. .Net Framework) and IDP version.
  10. If the test shows Green then you are good to go.
