What all information is exported if I move my QuickBooks Desktop Company File to the Online version of QuickBooks? Are there any exceptions?

We have been using QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise from long time however it seems like our boss is interested to use the Online version of QuickBooks for ease of accessibility. Now I am not sure if all the information we have in our file currently will be exported or if there are any exceptions

Hi Silvester,

QuickBooks Online’s data handling capability for reporting is a bit different as compared with the desktop version of QuickBooks

Considering the fact that its a Cloud version of QuickBooks, depending on the number of transactions in the data you have, the conversion might require expert handling. This can be verified as per the total targets on QB Desktop company file.

I would first like you to understand that there is a huge difference between a regular QuickBooks Desktop version and Enterprise, understanding that you guys use the Inventory feature as well. Exceptions are definitely there since you are moving from an advanced edition of QuickBooks Desktop to QB Online edition.

You might not have a clarity if all the information gets completely exported or not. You might need to check few things before you even decide to do so, such as the size of your QuickBooks company file (since enterprise users have the huge volume of transactions), how many years of information you currently have or are you willing to get rid of old information etc.

However, in case the problem persists, and you feel the need to speak to a technical expert, call QuickBooks Error Support Number and to get your issue solved without a minute delay.
