Why do I have this message on my computer screen whenever I am trying to print checks “Printer Not Activated (Error code -20) on QuickBooks”?

I disposed of my 8 years old computer because of slow performance issues on it and purchased a Windows laptop instead. I got everything of my use installed on it including QuickBooks Pro 2009 and everything is working fine. I have problems to email or print invoices from my QuickBooks and keep receiving the error “Printer not activated, Error code -20. Any information to resolve this issue would greatly be appreciated. Thank You.

Congratulations on your new laptop and thanks very much for posting regarding problems printing from QuickBooks. QB Error Code 20 is a result of using an obsolete and unsupported QuickBooks version on Windows 10 platform.  QuickBooks 2009 is never meant run on Windows 7 or higher due to compatibility issues. Moreover, the official support for QuickBooks 2009 ended way back in May 2012. Your QuickBooks 2009 never updated since 2012 and Windows 10 updates do at least twice a month creating the gap. Due to this gap, QuickBooks Error Code Occurs.

What Causes QuickBooks Error Code 20?

  1. QuickBooks 2009 compatibility Issues with windows 10.
  2. Non-updated QuickBooks 2009.
  3. Application key is not updated.
  4. Unsupported printer drivers either way.
  5. QuickBooks Windows Registry Issues.

Hope this information suffices your request for information about the occurrence of QuickBooks Error Code 20. For detailed information and interim solutions make your QuickBooks 2009 print installed on Windows 10 follow the article link below. Hope the information helps.
