If you are trying to use Multi-User Hosting for the first time. You need to decide if you want to store your company files on a Windows Server or on a Regular Windows Computer. In case you do not have a Windows Server then you can consider one of the computers as a Host on which you will store the Company Files

Below are a few steps you will be required to follow:

    1. Ensure the folders where the QuickBooks files are located are shared and have permissions, you would need to go to the Folder Properties and then add the QBDataService user and make sure it has Full Control under Permissions

    1. If you are using the 2018 version of QuickBooks you’d need to allow the ports: 8019, 56728, 55378-55382 by creating an Inbound as well as Outbound Rule

    1. Setup the Database Server Manager, you need to open QuickBooks, Go to File, then Utilities, then select “ Host Multi-User Access”, once done you will need to search and open “QuickBooks Database Server Manager” from Start Menu. Then you’d need to add the folder where the company files are located and Run Scan.

Once you are successfully able to follow the above steps, the files should be shared and are ready to be opened from the secondary computer where you would like to use QuickBooks.

However, if you still need help then can take help at QuickBooks Desktop Error Support Number for tech assistance.
